Music – a universal language…spoken and understood by everybody…feeds the soul.
If one has a heart to listen carefully, then music is spread throughout the nature and all around us. Music makes everything better. It is something very extraordinary; it brings out the human in us who is unbiased of any religion or language. It doesn’t matter where it originated, it’s universally palatable. It transcends both space and time and unifies people, breaching seemingly impenetrable cultural and generational divides, reminding them what a gift it is to be alive and breathing.
Nothing connects to the moment like music. It unwraps the heart, sings out the prayer, dances the spirit and opens the soul. Good music is like good food for the soul. While it inspires laughter, tears, song and dance, it is simultaneously soothing and emotive. As a strongest form of magic, it works from top of our head down to the tips of our toes, breathing new energy into every fibre of our body; lifting up our spirits and making us feel contented.
It expresses the inexpressible, making dead words alive, making hard times easier and good times even better.
“If music be the food of love, play on.” – William Shakespeare.
Music – an art of thinking…sounds and vibrations.
In its most basic form, music is one of the fine arts, which means that it is created out of innovation, technical and imaginative skills through various types of musical instruments. Like a painter portray the art on a canvas, musicians rhythm it on silence.
Music is an art of thinking with sounds. Music is energy in the form of vibrations. A blend of sounds and vibrations create a rhythm in the universe, which is rejuvenating, relaxing, motivating, energizing for the mind and the soul.
It’s a piece of art that flows through ears to the heart. Music is something that we can fall in love with. The truth is, love mends all. And if we are in love with the music, our life will change. Music is beautiful and emits the light that needs to be let in. It’s a way to escape, a way to breathe when life and the pain becomes unbearable. It’s a way to reminisce and be nostalgic.
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” – Plato
Music – a medicinal prayer…a healing power.
There is no organ in the human body which is not affected by music. It has got a therapeutic effect in life and a significant healing power. The melody that it carries along with it helps aid in the process of mending the sombre mood of a person. Sometimes, music is the only medicinal prayer the heart and soul needs.
If we are blessed with musical ability and can sing or play an instrument, these activities are also proven to help reduce stress. Science too, has shown that music has a physical effect on our bodies. As we listen, music works on the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for controlling blood pressure and heartbeat, as well as the limbic system, which is responsible for feelings and emotions. A review of 23 studies by Bradt & Dileo in 2009, involving almost 1,500 people found music helped to reduce blood pressure, heart rate and anxiety in heart disease patients.
Music can benefit psychological wellbeing, too. Research from the University of Missouri published in the The Journal of Positive Psychology found for the first time, that upbeat music can have a very positive effect on our wellbeing. The study suggests listening to music when we’re angry or sad provides an instant boost to our mind. Indeed, music has numerous physical and mental health benefits. Music is so powerful that researchers believe it can heal & prevent diseases. Simply put, our brains are programmed to be happier when we listen to music. It speaks to us and affects us in ways we can only begin to fathom. It is an indispensable gift, and we should never take it, or the happiness it produces; for granted.
“One good thing about music is, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley
Ever thought what would life be like without music?
Well, I guess world would have been a very quiet place in absence of music. Remember, we are in harmony with what music says and it talks to us and pulls at our hearts in most unusual ways, nurturing, comforting, commiserating, exhilarating, soothing and strengthening us against the dark. Listening to music every day, even for a short while is simple yet exceptionally powerful way to manage our moods and to remain at our best. To stop the flow of music would be like stopping of time itself, making life terribly cold and silent indeed.
Music is an incredible magic of universe…it speaks for the soul, connects for the love and heals for the emotions. So just loosen up…shake it off and follow the beats…!!!
